Troubleshooting Guide for Swaps Issue on Swapfast

Having trouble with your swap transactions on Swapfast? Here's an easy-to-read guide to help you identify and resolve common issues related to swaps. This guide will help you address swap issues like:

  1. Swap executed but funds are not visible on the intended chain

  2. Swaps are stuck/failed and tokens are not visible on the intended chain

Before you move ahead and start to look into troubleshooting steps, understanding below key terms below is crucial for your knowledge and easy assistance:

  • Source chain: The blockchain from where you're swapping.

  • Destination chain: The blockchain to which you're swapping.

  • Source asset: The cryptocurrency you're swapping.

  • Destination asset: The cryptocurrency you're receiving.

  • Intermediate chain: A blockchain that might be used in the swap process (e.g., Osmosis, Neutron, Terra, Chihuahua)

Common Issues and their resolution

Issue 1: Swap Executed But Funds are not visible on the intended chain

If you've completed a swap but can't see your funds, follow these steps:

  1. Check the Source chain: Ensure the swap has left the source chain.

  2. Check the Destination Chain: Verify if the funds have arrived on the destination chain.

  3. Check all Intermediate chains: Check your assets on Osmosis, Neutron, Chihuahua, and Terra.

Quick features/Tools in Cosmos ecosystem that you can use to locate your funds in Cosmos:

Issue 2: Swaps are Stuck/Failed and Tokens are not Visible on Intended Chains

If your swap is stuck or you think it’s failed (as shown in the 2 cases shared below);

  1. Swaps stuck on Leap Wallet interface

  2. Mintscan shows a continuous loader for transaction hash generated while making a swap (Similar to the below image)

Potential reasons along with steps to diagnose

Reason 1: Stuck swaps include network issues on any given chain or IBC relayers experiencing difficulties. (Osmosis is only taken as a reference in this guide, you should check for other chains involved in swaps.)

You can diagnose this by the below steps

  1. Visit this Mintscan link for Osmosis relayers

  2. Search for the chain you are transacting with, apart from Osmosis

  3. Click on the stats row and tap on active channels

Reason 2: Networks might be halted for some duration.

You can diagnose this by the below way

Monitor network status on Mintscan.

(No activity for the respective chain means a chain is halted)

💡A quick tip: If the transaction status is complete on Mintscan but you still don’t see your funds, refer to case 1.

Note: In both these cases, your funds are secure on the blockchain, typically stuck within the IBC module. This is a common issue on networks like Osmosis. Leap, as a non-custodial wallet, does not control your funds.
